1) What is the sous vide cooking method?

    The sous vide cooking method involves submerging vacuum sealed food in a warm water bath for a longer period of time compared to other cooking methods that cook food at higher temperatures. The intent is to cook the item evenly, ensuring that the inside is properly cooked without overcooking the outside, and retain moisture.

    2) Is Straight From the Root Gluten Free?

    Straight from the Root is naturally gluten free. Just simply veggies.

    4) Does the plastic packaging have BPA in it?

      Our plastic packaging is 100% BPA-Free.

      5) Are the SFTR veggies organic?

      Yes! Our butternut squash, sweet potato, kohlrabi, red beets, and parsnips are 100% USDA Organic. 

      6) Who should eat SFTR?

      Everyone. These vegetables are suitable for absolutely anyone. We also make it easy to puree our vegetables into baby food by doing all of the cooking for you. Just throw them into a blender.

      7) How long can I keep the SFTR packages in my fridge?

      The SFTR packages can be kept in your refrigerator for up to 4 weeks!! I know that sounds crazy, however, since the vegetables are never exposed to oxygen during or after the cooking process, bacteria cannot grow.

      10) Does it come in a refrigerated container?
      It comes in a styrofoam container with gel ice packs
